The layout depicts the Pennsylvania RR main line through suburban New Jersey, featuring a four- and six-track right-of-way under scratch built catenary and scenes of actual locations along the line.

The layout is based on the Cumberland Valley RR in the1950's with the names of the towns served (Carlisle, Oakville, etc.). It is a rectangle with three peninsulas and two levels connected by a 3% grade and has 1,472' of a two track main with folded loops. Most scenes are rural with the background walls painted by a commercial artist.

Ed's model trolley layout is based on East Penn Traction Club standards and all cars operate from hand-built overhead wire and on hand laid track work. The layout is constantly being upgraded with additional track work, structures and details. Nearly all of the layout is an urban setting with track work in paved streets. Both commercial and residential areas are modeled. When completed the layout will incorporate over 100 custom built structures. Phase one of the current expansion includes multi-story structures that are illuminated with LED lighting and many have detailed interiors. Trolley cars operate under automatic control.

Dave’s G scale railroad features expansive dirt hills and scenery. Inspired by the La Mesa Model Railroad in San Diego, his Mojave Subdivision is set in 1994, the final full year of operations under the Southern Pacific and Santa Fe flags. This year’s project has been the construction of a massive concrete mountain, measuring 55' long, 19' at its widest point, and over 8' tall. Beneath the mountain are four hidden storage tracks. Similar storage tracks are located at the west end of the railroad, just west of Caliente. Expect to see 20+ car trains with helper engines tackling the grades on the layout. His backyard features a significant incline, with Caliente sitting 32 real feet—or 928 G scale feet—below the summit. With a ruling grade of 3%, closely matching the real Tehachapi’s 2.2+% grade, the layout brings California's most famous railfan spot to life in eastern PA.
